Olympic memories: Coe/Ovett, Gunnell, T.Sanderson, A.Wells, Redgrave, Nicolecooke, Daley, GBhockey 88 and hundreds more.

Alberto Juantorena winning the 400m and 800 double in 76 Montreal, amazing. That’s Olympic memories! x

Love that band 'Savages'. Original, tasteful and interesting xx

Savages, woo!

I have to disagree with Nicky on this one - the country will benefit from the games financially and gain a huge sporting legacy afterwards so Im happy to sit through an opening celebration for a couple of hours if it means the UK has a couple of weeks of feelgood factor and sporting success
This, The Wire has turned into a grumpy old git!

I couldn't agree more, apart from maybe the water polo.
Oh get over yourself wire, turn off the tv and do something else if you don't want to watch it. You can watch the 12hrs of sport the day after.

Wire should turn the telly off tonight and nail 'Condemned to Rock n Roll' then phone James and Sean and tell em to do the same - that is one of my favourite songs so hearing it live would make me forgive Wire for being a moody bugger about the opening ceremony

They should play them. I do hope doing the O2 and having this break that they realize that in reality they're not going to seriously the impact of the modern music scene and just do smaller shows, with the fans in mind, and have fun with the setlists

If there is a GT gig I will be there.

Even if they put a few 2012 filmed performances on the GT reissue FFS!

now that i think, in years gone by The Stones and The Who have done concerts just to film for release - good enough for them to do, good enough for the Manics? it would be class if they did their own variant of "VH1 Storytellers" with a few tales of recording the album, wouldn't it?

btw, you and me need to talk Bowie mate, PM soon-ish, let me see what's sat here
