I'm loving the album - beautiful.

My minor criticisms would be the Tokyo Skyline chorus, just goes nowhere & Anthem for a Lost Cause sounds like a JDB solo b-side.

My son's girlfriend just walked in while I giving the album another listen and it was on 'Anthem for a lost Cause', she thought I was listening to a McFly album she said it sounded just like them with the harmonies. I've given it enough listens now, its going in the draw with PFAYM never to be played again.

She may think that..doesn't mean it's true. Motown used harmonies.

I'm playing the album at least 3 or 4 times a day.... it aint going in any drawer for a long while yet

Want to listen to it again now, but not going to as don't want to overplay it. With PFAYM i had no desire to listen to it again after my first listen...although i did a few times more to ensure i wasn't wrong about it being poor. Haven't listened to that album in full for three years now, have no desire to ever again. This one however, has made me very excited about the band all over again. Really needed this to be good...and it is fucking amazing. It's so good actually that i don't want to listen to the demos properly incase they ruin it (which they most certainly will what with Nicky being present on alot of them).

Well I'm allowed an opinion like anyone else, I remember defending Lifeblood on here when it came out against the haters.

Who said you weren't allowed an opinion? I just imagine that's how James would respond to being told he sounded like McFly... which wasn't even your opinion?

At the moment i can't imagine a day when I'll think ive overplayed it. I just want to hug the speakers. If they were on the floor I think i would

SATT, JFPL made me want to revisit their back catalogue. PFAYM didn't. I liked it when it came out and played it for a few weeks but I kept being distracted by other things while it was playing. RTF makes me stop and listen.

Boys you done good. Really really good.

Totally agree. PFAYM genuinely put me off them, even their older stuff seemed somehow tainted by it - a feeling of how can I take any of their stuff seriously when this is the band who would end up making that steaming pile of shite. This album has led me back to them as a band after 3 years. It's funny because it's really not my favourite by them... but it's good enough, a comforting step in the right direction which has reminded me who they are, what they're about and why they're important. Very grateful to this record for that.

I'm still struggling with it, but certain songs are starting to click.

I had to explain to one of my friends how I have to listen to new releases by my favourite band over and over until I like them. He gave me a look that said "perhaps you don't like them that much then"
