A pretty enjoyable gig for me, I like to hear the new songs live so thought they played a decent amount from the album. Would love to have heard 4 Lonely Roads instead of YSTS or INW though. Favourites were This Sullen Welsh Heart, Rewind the Film (very happy Richard Hawley was there, it doesn't have the same gravitas without his voice!) and As Holy as the Soil. And James saying how Nasmyth left them with their dicks in the breeze to go and tour with the Spice Girls made me laugh. It's always a joy to look around and see everyone singing and pointing during ADFL too. Bring on the next album and tour!

I was only a little bit in front of you in the queue and I did nearly come over to talk to you again but you were in the middle of a conversation with someone I didn't know so I thought it'd be rude to interupt

This was my second Manic gig, the first being the O2 Arena concert in 2011, and was a fantastic concert.
Motorcycle Emptiness was a fantastic opener and seeing the crowd's reaction was brilliant. Even though some people may be bored of the hits such as You Stole The Sun, Its Not War and You Love Us the way the band interacted with the audience and the great reception the songs got from the audience was justification of putting them in. With regard to the new songs Show Me the Wonder, Rewind the Film, Sullen Welsh Heart and 30 Year War were great to hear live. An Anthem For a Lost Cause is one of my favourites from the album but didn't think it was that brilliant live. The bands anecdotes and jokes were funny and enjoyable as usual. My top 5 favourite songs from the night were: 1. Design For Life 2. Motorcycle Emptiness 3. Marlon JD Snippet 4. Revol 5. 30 Year War A great atmosphere and evening. Looking forward to next years tour.

I always think they should play one or the other, so YLAINE or INW, YSTS or erm...anything else really! They didn't even play anything from GATS, KYE or LB! (Nicky sang a bit of Marlon JD so I'm counting that!) I think it's a real shame. FDTW or 1985 would've sounded great in this setlist.

I would look some more obscure songs but I really like songs like You Stole the sun, Its not War and your love alone so either option is good for me haha. Hopefully for next years tour there will be some full tracks from JFPL and even some songs from KYE as I think that they could fit in well with what the next albums songs are supposed to sound like.

Just occurred to me that the snippets Nicky has played before AHATS (Golden Platitudes and Marlon JD) are on his 'hidden gems' list from the new Q Magazine. So maybe he's going in reverse order, and we'll get 1985 at Manchester and Welcome To The Dead Zone at Glasgow. Or maybe it's just coincidence and wishful thinking. Yeah, definitely the last one, actually

Also, nice to see Nicky's glitter sideburns getting an airing.
