A grungey album and songs like PCP being rehearsed? Blimey. The future's bright!

I think this may express the reason why none of the raving reviews of the songs that pop up on twitter every now and then excite me anymore.
Well, maybe a new track will win me over.
I'll watch from the sidelines!

EDIT: thanks for sharing the info AK47! Even though all I do is moan.

I've asked my mate to clarify what he meant by that text and he has responded with:

" I realise now how that came across! I meant that the music is pretty fantastic and is much better than the output from 2010 to RTF. It sounds solid - I don't think it will win over old fans but fuck it, it's new manics music. "

No offence intended but second hand stuff from a mate is a bit you know, for news , especially if it's not correct.

Well, they've been 90% correct in the lead up to RTF so I'm inclined to take it on board.

I don't like the quote from the text saying "They can't do much more after this"
Why not? Really upset me reading that - why does it seen some people are determined to see the end of the Manics?
They can go on for as long as they themselves feel like it and I know I will always be a fan.
There are too many artists to list that have gone on and on and still have an audience, so why can't the Manics? Also why can't they reinvent themselves each time - it's possible they can do that! RTF was different and I embrace it for that even with it's flaws (in my opinion).

That does seem a pretty odd comment, really, but I took it as more a sign of how good he thinks it is rather than necessarily saying he wants them to end.

But can I bring this back on topic to discuss official/other tweets, which we know are real, rather than hearsay .

I do. I'll keep it to random mentions in future.

Yeah, that's how it was meant. It's basically a reaction against RTF in terms of bringing back the guitars and loudness.

Have a bath with it. Not putting the electrics in the water obvs... It's quite good for background noise. Got something you need to type up within 40 odd minutes? Have it playing in the background.
Looking forward to Futurology, but I don't think it'll be as background as RTF.

That sounds like a very safe distance to have them at.
