The deluxe edition is described as a folio, so yes it will be the same as the previous ones. Japan is getting mini LP packaging for the deluxe (according to the description).

I received an email with a 20% off voucher for the official store for preordering Futurology with them and being "such a loyal fan". Well then, preorder cancelled. And reordered. That's how I roll.

Quite a good interview that, the Lifeblood and THB comparisons at the beginning are by far the least interesting part IMHO. Thanks for the link.

Hah! Good work.

I had an email saying "Recomendations from My Play Direct". I didn't open it but one can only presume it said "SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE".

Don't know if anyone has mentioned the NME track-by-track thing?

thanks for this. I love the picture which appears after the video is finished. toilet.

actually - do you think that they listen to The Holy Bible somtimes? or not? How can someone say EGDM could have been on THB? it wouldn't even have been a b-side at that time.

I agree with you on this one - their constant mantra of "x/y/z sounds like The Holy Bible/ could have been on the Holy Bible" starts to really grate on me. Firstly because, as you say, musically this is never true. Not ONE of the songs we know so far sounds REMOTELY like anything akin to the Bible. Which would obviously be fine if they didn't always claim otherwise. Secondly, they set the stakes so high that they are inevitably bound to disappoint and fail. Thirdly, maybe trust your listeners not to be total idiots and draw their own conclusions?

I think James' vocal on that song is very Holy Bible-esque.

I'm liking the use of the word 'sheen' again from James. Don't think that's been used since Lifeblood.

Saying that any other Manics album is like another is fairly redundant as they all sound different.

that might be true although this is probably the only connection.
Besides everything else there are some very very very obvious things that could never happen on THB:

1) Nina Hoss (imagine her singing "Ich Ich Ich Ich Ich möchte durch den Schnee laufen und keine Fußabdrücke hinterlassen" )
2) SUCH A LYRIC!
3) such a rythm
4) keyboards
5) guitar not main instrument

this is simply a KYE - SATT song no matter what they say
