What's that one track you really like but never comes to mind?

So I got Planet Telex by Radiohead in my head and I thought "I really like this track but if you asked me to name my favourite Radiohead songs I probably wouldn't think to name it"

This got me thinking, what would the equivalent track be for the Manics?

This is definitely one of those questions that I need to experience the answer, as in actually hear the song. That being said, I really like Golden Platitudes but I don't think it would come to mind if you asked me to list my favourite tracks.

Oooh good question.

I love Forever Delayed and Peeled Apples but with FD not being on an album it’s easy to forget. I often forget about JFPL too (bizarre as I love it), so Peeled Apples definitely.

Hmmm…I’d probably say “Dead Yankee Drawl” as it’s one I never think to listen to but whenever I do, I remember how much I love that pre-chorus build up.

'Epicentre'. Marvellous song, but tucked away on the second side of a fairly overwhelming album.

Fear of Motion.
I've never really put together a top ten of Manics songs. Originally thought of something off GT.

Hidden away at the end of JFPL.... I have to admit I had to check the tracklisting to remember what it was called!

Santiago Sunrise. It's an absolutely beautiful song, and yet, no one talks about it, or even seems to know that it's there. Much the same can be said for JDB's first solo album, too. What Is Music barely even acknowledged the presence of Kyffin or Long Way To Go in their coverage of the album.

Also, It Will Take More Than A Grave.

oh, thinking about James's solo stuff - Don't Look Back probably falls into this category; when I remember its existence I'd probably classify it as one of my all time favourites of anything he's been involved in... but because it's tucked away on a b-side from his 15 year old solo album, it's never the first one to come to mind.
