Isn't it at the Caird Hall?

Would have loved to have been able to get to it - the last time they played there, 23 years ago, was a bit of a landmark event for me - my first indoor gig taking place a couple of weeks before I packed my bags and headed off to uni.

I still rank it as one of my all time favourite gigs, and definitely one of the hottest and sweatiest. Tolerate felt like a bit of a strange set opener, but my overriding memory was mutual screaming the lyrics to Faster into each other's faces with a complete stranger. I think it may have also been the last time they played a gig and didn't play You Stole the Sun!

Anyway enough reminiscing, I think I've got a bootleg of that night somewhere so will put it on tonight.

Enjoy anyone going tonight!

Into the waves replaced DLTNDU.
Snippet of Sleepflower acoustic.
We got a choice of Postcards or FDTW acoustic, and the latter won the battle.
Brilliant gig, Edinburgh maybe just shades it for best gig out of the 3 so far for me.

I was at Edinburgh on Tuesday and Dundee last night, going to Glasgow on Tuesday as well. Both were great gigs but Edinburgh was definitely better, no fault of the band but the sound at the Usher Hall is/was vastly superior to Fat Sam's.

Fat Sam's is an odd venue, first time I've been in but it says it holds 1,200. Of that, I reckon only about 400 can actually see the stage because of the way it's set up. Also, I reckon they sold over 1,200 before moving it from the Caird Hall and then squeezed everyone in as it was uncomfortably full!

James has been on great form both nights and you can tell the band are really enjoying being back up on stage. I know they're not catering for people like me going to multiple nights, but it would be nice if they could mix up the setlist a bit more. I appreciated SoS as a deep cut but I don't think the crowd were into it either night, something like Stay Beautiful or Motown Junk would probably have gone down a lot better.

Disclaimer: I had a few pints in Edinburgh but had to drive to Dundee, which may be clouding my judgement a wee bit.
