Richey said in his last TV interview:

When I see a lot of bands' lyric sheets, before I hear the record I know what they're going to sound like - cause the metre in the text is like "da da da, da da da, da da da". I think when I see my lyrics written down, even though I know what the song's gonna be like, I can't really imagine how James could possibly sing the words.
