I share the common view here that it was great to be a fan for the energy, tour and popularity at the time, but the record is a bit superficial and thus doesn't stand the test of time, so down with PFAYM as least good Manics albums, but still enjoyable at the right time.

I had got into Manics in 2003, so SATT was more immediately exciting than Lifeblood and great to have a new album after the solos. Still remember grinning as the song SATT started. It wasn't long after the tours etc that I went off listening to it as the annoying songs grated. They undermine the flow of the album unfairly detracting from some reasonable songs that sound better in a live context. My tastes have expanded from predictable rock thus I rarely listen to it unless I'm going for an all out Manics phase (usually around concerts). Lifeblood by contrast is a great grower after initial uncertainty.
