Manics - with an Orchestra?
I have been pondering in the last few days about "orchestral" versions of the Manics songs ... I had been listening to some of the 'Stealth Sonic Orchestra' stuff that was released as b-sides and then stumbled on 'Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' complilation that had a cover of 'Design For Life' on ..
Curious what people's thoughts are about such incarnations of the songs .. and then there are many bands (e.g. like the Metallica 'S&M', or like Snow Patrol just did at the Royal Albert Hall) who done gigs - "re-imagining/re-arranging" some of their catalogue in to a live performace with a full live philharmonic/symphonic orchestra? Where EMG is (as one example) is string heavy .. do you think the Manics would every venture into this territory? How well do you think that would be received?
