Futurology was the album that got me back into the band after the 2007-2010 stuff pushed them into "has-beens rehashing their past" territory for me. I'd definitely welcome an extension of the direction it and Lifeblood hinted at.
That said, a mix of straight-up Manics with some weirder stuff in the second half would work just as well for me - I think RiF might have crept into my Manics top 5, so as long as there's good songs and at least some originality in the arrangements I'll be happy. |
