I don't think there's such a thing as market when it comes to Manics gear. There are Manics fans who would probably buy everything or multiples of stuff, people who will pay whatever amount they have to to get something. There's no logic to most of it. The process of Ebay can either inflate or deflate prices, usually the latter. You can't say that something is only worth what it sells for. That's just some cheap rhetoric. In the last few months Lifeblood on vinyl has sold on ebay for various prices between £5 and £30 - so what's it worth? Motown Junk has sold there for about £20-£30 but I'm sure I saw it in the record Collector valued at much more than that and people
will pay that price.
What rare Manics vinyl release has
not become collectible and overpriced? (at least compared to the original list price. ) I can't think of one to be honest.
My point being is that when there's a certain "cult" status of a band logic and market theories kinda go out of the window. You could hazzard a guess that the manufacturer here has all but guaranteed that this will go up in value once the 300 copies "sell out" - that is if there's really only 300 copies. But, maybe it won't and maybe they'll barely sell all of them because the remixes are a bit pants aren't they?
