There seemed to be a pressing need to take every lyric on SATT seriously. Despite a quote from the Wire that they were displaying their sense of humour for the first time.
It ranged from not understanding the use of the phrase "I am just a Patsy" to the line " Oh good god, I feel like a liberal". Neither of which I find quirky (which is entirely down to point of view I suppose) or an in-joke, both of which I took to be "humorous". It is funny that Nicky was condemned for that but writing in the same vein from Richey was for the most part praised "we missed the sex revolution...".
