Being a Manics fan in the USA....

I have a Manics hoodie that I made... It says Manic Street Preachers in large letters on the front and "I know I believe in nothing but it is my nothing" on the back.

Last weekend I was wearing it when I went out to run errands. I stopped at a gas station and the guy behind the counter looked at my hoodie and excitedly said to me, "Manic street preaching, that's something I could get behind. Is that a group?"

I said "yes, it's a group, it's a band..."

I could tell he was confused... "So... you don't go and preach the lords message?"

I told him no, that it was a band from Wales. When he saw the back of the hoodie he told me he was offended.

Later that day I was in a grocery store. A woman stopped me and asked me what church I was affiliated with so she could join me in street preaching.

Again - I had to explain....

Who knew some many people in upstate NY wanted to be street preachers?

Too bad I wasn't wearing one of the Holy Bible hoodies I bought on that tour, that would have been even more confusing.
