a Q for those who saw the Preston Guild Hall show (SATT)

i really didn't know where to put this a) at all, or b) where it would be seen, so i hope it's ok to put it here...?

anyhoo... the Manics played the Preston Guild Hall circa SATT. I will be going to that venue for the first time this week and am worried about taking my camera... tickets say 'no photography', but did any of you guys have problems taking photos when you saw the Manics there?

(i have to say, googling 'preston guild hall photography' gets you results of YT videos of Jason Donovan!!!! so .... i'm confused *lolz)

I thnik all venues can be a bit iffy when it comes to taking cameras in. I always try and keep mine descreetly out of view, then get it out once I'm in!

I've been there a few times and security is pretty laid back for standing gigs. If it's an all seated thing there may be protests.

Usually they just have a quick peek in your bag or whatever when you enter the venue. Never had any probs at Wolves Civic but have heard about people having their cameras taken off them and other horror stories. Probably just depends on the security company being used. I honestly wouldn't fret too much, just make sure you know where everything is and try and keep tabs on it!

Just avoid using a flash as a generl rule even in gigs where cameras are allowed. And without a flash it's harder to find you if indeed there is enforcement.

London HMV Forum did in 2009 (but not 2007 it was just Kentish Town Forum then though). Mind you that was mainly just the no fun man, he might just have been the problem all in his own. The other one the springs to mind was Reading in 2007. Which Brighton? I thought the Dome was ok as I've pretty good photos from both times (discounting the inherent failings of Wires red jeans red t shirt combo)? What was the one where the man was convinced you were filming videos and kept telling you off?

It can depend on the band playing and their policy on phtotgraphy as well securities in general though.

Thats the Reading I meant, Rivermead was what 97 - see look now I'm getting old I'm confusing shit.

Trying to think where you've been in Brighton? Brighton Centre 3 times (jilly Britten and the human barrier, first date of the lifeblood tour, and last date of satt hoddie sock hell) but thats too big surely? The Dome twice but I thought they were quite good there (satt or the jfpl where you were well sly). Only other one would be James solo at the concorde 2 by the sea side with the free crisps.

Reading Hexagon were VILE about flash, the security chap tried to take my camera off me at one point nd I had to shove it down my bra
And it was the hottest venue in the world.
