Voted.

Dog Man Star at no.1? Come on...

Oh and you can vote for Richey as 'greatest lyricist' too (currently he's no.10, beating John Lennon):

Oh my god how is Matt Bellemy number 2??? His lyrics are possibly the worst to exist, and the subjects of them are just stupid!

I love how it's clear from the thread title/OP we've even given up any pretence at caring what the poll actually is, it's just become our bi-monthly penance for being Manics fans.

Important enough to warrant a "best album evars of the 90's" mention alongside the supermegahugecommercialhit EMG and supermegahugecultclassic THB? I actually like GT and stuff, it just feels... out of place.

But then again, I wasn't really following the British music press at the time so I've no clue. That said though, I can totally see GT being the sort of album that NME would cream over and call the greatest thing ever/saviour of rock music/etc for a month or so so I guess it makes a bizarre sort of sense.

I wasn't following it because of being a foetus but it seemed to have been eagerly awaited and hyped, the Manics were really exciting at the time and i'm sure those that knew of them felt it was an important album.

Won't win though, EMG is our best bet. Cos it's ADFL on it!
