I'm not a huge fan of live albums, but i would buy a manics one, if they were to bring one out. I can't see the record company going for it anyway. They didn't release one in the years between 96 and 02, so they hardly will now. If they did, it would only feature all the hits anyway. I would be more in favour of a dvd. I love my the FD dvd. I know, it's not a live one. And I am crazy as I'm sure many of you are, about THB special edition dvd. After waiting for so many years, it was great to finally watch clips of THB tour.

If they were to do a tv special of some sort, maybe something like the Songbook show, on sky arts. The Duran Duran one is great. For a tv performance, it sounds brilliant. Best rendition of A View To A Kill i have seen/heard.

They didn't do a live album per se but of course there is the Millenium, Nynex and Cuba releases, so it's not like there's been nothing at all. Plus with the live thing I think there needs to be a DVD as bands need to be seen as well as heard at that point. At the moment most bands package the DVD with the CD itself because it keeps the cost lower.

I love the idea of Unplugged (perhaps with strings) for sure as in the past this has worked really well. Much as they are still a great live band, I think the time has passe when they were at their peak, which as for pretty much every band in existence was in their early career. From what I've seen, their best performances came between 1994 and 1997 in the main.

I've read that James quote too but given the Postcards shoebox cost it seems redundant now

I really wouldn't be interested in a live album. The only time I want to hear live music is at gigs. The rest of the time I don't care.

Is it too much to ask for a proper DVD release of the Nynex gig, aka "Everything Live"? I think a full uncut DVD release of that would go over well, and put any rehearsal footage etc as bonus stuff.

I for one would love that, A because it seems like a great show throughout, and B I've completely worm out my tape

It would be nice to hear a current-day official live recording, with the band overseeing the mixing. The problem is, they're such a nervous live band that they'd probably balls up a few songs or play within themselves.

The Hammersmith gig was testament enough to that.

Edit: I keep misreading the did of this thread as 'Can we have a DESENT live album please?', which would be weird. I'm not sure they've played it live enough times to make a full album of it.
