You're not the only one! It takes a while to get used to his voice, but now I find his songs just as good as any other Manics song!

I think he's fab! The fragility in his voice is perfect for "William's Last".

My boyfriend reckons his solo stuff sounds like one of the C86 bands he can't now remember (old age kicking in...).

I like it, too. I think IKTZ has helped him a lot. They seem to choose the songs that suit his voice now.

No you are not the only one who likes Nicky's voice.

I love it and think he has a great honesty and emotion in his voice. Yes it can sound a bit strange when you have just heard James (who has the most fantastic voice) but if you listen to IKTZ it's perfect.

Check out the thread for Nick's solo stuff, there's lots of people who love his singing on there.

The man just doesn't give a fuck - in a good way. He could easily sound a lot more 'professional' on record and cover his flaws up with studio trickery, but according to all sources he did one take of William's Last Words and that was that.

It's the only punk ethic left in the Manics. I find some of James' recent singing (and multi-layered vocals) much more off-putting.

I don't rate it as a good voice, but I like it and it works.

I guess I like it as well.
In IKTZ is quite awful during some parts and I'd want to punch him in the face, but it in the end I can easily get over that.
As for William's Last Words...I was only able to listen to it just once, because it left me emotionally and physically tired and dry. I can't imagine what my reaction would be if they(he) played it live. I'm still wondering how he managed to record it, one take or not.

I do think that his singing in YLAINE is just adorably perfect, one of my favourite parts in a Manics song

It's alright, he's not a brilliant "singer" but so what. I first liked what he was doing when I heard Dying Breeds for the first time on Empty Souls DVD single. Good song.
