Bright Eyes for the tour then? Eh, fair enough.
I was hoping for Dancing Queen.

An enjoyable three songs. I think I prefer the piano version of Orwellian, and it'll be interesting to see if the band have been using Lockdown to rework other live staples in the way that they did for Tolerate.

Despite the compressed as hell stream that was a short but very sweet set; orwellian sounding particularly nice on the solo mournful piano and i loved the guitar licks throughout tolerate, the intro was great. Still prefer bright eyes with just james on acoustic but nice to hear something different.

And somewhere he was laughing, in a white-painted loft, distant fingers caressing the deck, tears of release streaking his face. |

Well it’s the best version of Bright Eyes that they’ve done but please fuck the covers off and do something new or rare.

So...
A piano version of Orwellian that makes me like the song a bit more than I did before. One of the best versions of Tolerate I've heard in ages. Usually the only reason I get excited for it at a show is because it generally means the mid show acoustic part is coming up. A version of Bright Eyes that sounds like a holiday park resident band filling in the time between the bingo and the evenings main entertainment of an impressionist doing impressions of people who were relevant for two weeks in the late 80s. Overall, it sounded like a band enjoying themselves, especially on Tolerate. I am all for this. |
