You could really tell they wanted to put GATS much higher, giving it the false narrative that it was an over maligned album vindicated by time. Probably has the joint best set of singles with EMG but so much of the album is filler. Progenitor of other albums released for the sake of a release schedule and bank accounts like PFAYM and RiF.

Well it's a lot better than I was expecting. I'd put JFPL and Lifeblood higher than EMG and KYE and swap a few here and there, but overall it's in the ball park of my own preference.

I find it really hard to rank them. Although GT, GATS and SATT will be perennially near the bottom.

I can agree with them that Walkers are shite. Only tolerable ones are Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli. All others can get in the bin.

Why The Independent couldn't have just asked the band instead of cribbing. But that's probably The Independent's current online journalism.

We were rehearsing ‘Peeled Apples’, ‘She Is Suffering’, ‘Sleepflower’ and old tracks like ‘Life Becoming A Landslide’ just for fun. There’s always a moment when you think, ‘Let’s put them in the set’, but most people just want ‘You Stole The Sun From My Heart’ – it’s a fine line.

Lord give me strength.

Also lol at the Wattsville Blues anecdote. I love some of the Wire vocal songs... but that one is definitely not on the list.

If there’s one “staple” I’d love to see dropped, it’s Your Love Alone Is Not Enough. It’s nowhere near the crucial classic they think it is.

The dream is that they just drop everything that was a top 20 hit and just play minor hits, album tracks and b-sides for the rest of their career.

I'm at the point where I'm even thinking whether or not I can be bothered to travel for tomorrow's gigs (mainly due to horrendous trains over the weekend from the north).
