I'm there with you and Elizabeth!! Also, there are a few songs that I couldn't have been arsed about before but I really gained a new appreciation for after I heard them live...so I may end up liking absolutely everything at some point if I see them enough.

...So I'm excited about the album, to get back on topic. XDXD

If it sounds like Photoucket then we have Lifeblood 2.0.

Which is good news!

But if you see them live too much theres other songs that go the other way - like I don't think I started off hating Ocean Spray, I didn't think much of it but there was no hatred but then one day you find yourself in the position where you'd rather stand outside in the rain getting soaked than wait inside as they are soundchecking it and you can't bear the thought of having to hear it one more time than you already have to by going to see them play.

I think theres quite possibly songs I hate because they are by the manics, and I have higher standards for them - if another band had released it it would just be a bit of a meh? song and I probably wouldn't care but I know they can do so much better so its a disappointment.

Hating songs definitely doesn't make you any less of a fan, in fact I would probably agree it makes you almost more as its that test of loyalty. Are you committed enough to stick with them thorough the patchy albums, the dodgy beards, the hideous trainers, the embarrassing pronouncements and all the other horrors the manics are prone to test us with.

I admit, if I'd been paying attention during Nicky's dodgy beard days, I might not be a fan anymore.

I'll probably never be in the situation where I have seen them too much live, unfortunately--I live in the States. I'm curious, do you think you would have hated "Ocean Spray" if you had listened to KYE as many times as you'd seen the song on tour, or was it just something about the way they played it live that made it that way? Or was it just because you wished they'd play something else in the live set?

I'm sure I would feel totally differently about many things if I'd seen them as many times as some of you have! ahahaha. And yet it's a problem I'd LOVE to have. XD

Yay! And like Lucy92 says you have to be careful not to jade yourself of any song so that's what I try to do. Put it away for a few months then go back to it!

Agreed. Same thing happened to me when i overplayed TBTGOG. Then I couldn't stand it for months. So i left it, came back to it and it sounded fresh again.

You never know where you'll end up though - I started going to see them once a tour then built up to full tours then built up to travelling half way accross the world, so when they come back you never know you might get hooked in.

As for Ocean Spray I think I probably have heard it on record a lot when KYE first came out (as I have a tendency to overplay manics albums when they are first out) but probably once a year at most since. So I guess still probably not as many times as live but I do think I'd dislike it as much its just the wonder of the skip button is you never have to end up in that position where as that doesn't work so well live.

I think theres also I little bit of the third point as well - like every other song which they play all the time (or did as obviously OS didn't make it to the US which actually made me enjoy the gigs even more as there was never that dreading it bit) you can see why as its usually ones the crowd respond well to but OS I never really got, and its not like it was a big hit and theres much better live songs on that album. I guess it then comes down to sentimental reasons they are playing it which then just makes you feel like a bit of a bitch for hating it...but I can't help hating it as I just find it so dull live.

Mind you its different for everyone, I think once I saw someone say they were bored of ADFL live and I can't imagine ever being in that position despite the fact I've probably seen it almost twice as may times as Ocean Spray.
