That was a good video. Nice to see a manics video with an actual budget to do some good stuff.

Watched it earlier today on my phone (far too small) on the way to work, liked it, partciularly James and the great shot of Sean towards the end. Just getting a chance to watch it properly now. It still made me grin so that's a good thing. As a video it's not that special or different but ok. Really want the album now.

1st impression's very positive. Some of the lyrics jar a bit but it's a cracking tune! I sense that chorus will by in my head for the rest of the day!

First decent video in ages too. Actually looks like something a contemporary band would make and a welcome break from the nostalgia of RTF and some of the soporific efforts from the last few albums (I'm looking at you SKON and Empty Souls!).

Overall, thumbs up!

Nice to hear from Nicky that it's got nothing to do with Richey.

Lyrics with scribbles from Wire:

I can imagine Wire reading it over and over, slowly changing little bits at a time to slowly achieve perfection, and every time he gets to 'singing it loud at the indie disco' he's like 'yep, that line's perfect.'

Madness.

Interesting! I did think people were jumping the gun a bit when saying it simply had to be about Richey. It seemed almost too obvious.

I'm gonna take some convincing over that one, Wire.

I think it was pretty obviously not going to be about Richey once the official blurb came out but those lyrics....

You mean break from nostalgia musically or visually? The concept is stuck in the 90s.

Yes, I'm with you there, for once.

Well if Nicky is saying it's about a time when he was considering leaving the band it's not surprising Richey might get a mention in some respect, but I don't think the whole song is an ode to him or his disappearance. It's the wrong bridge for a start and doesn't tie in with the whole European theme of the album.

Aye, I perceived that to mean 'imagining how Richey disappeared, and now I want to leave the band too'.
