I just got a pre-order email from Townsend records:-

Manic Street Preachers announce details of a new single to be released on December 6th. 'Some Kind Of Nothingness', featuring the unmistakable voice of Ian McCulloch will be the second single to be taken from their tenth studio album 'Postcards From A Young Man'.

The single will be released on CD and 7" all featuring brand new tracks.
A second CD is available now to pre-order exclusively from the Manics Store complete with an exclusive track and a signed sleeve.

CD1: Some Kind of Nothingness; Broken Up Again; Red Rubber; Evidence Against Myself
CD2: Some Kind of Nothingness; Slow Reflections/ Strange Delays
7": Some Kind of Nothingness; Time Ain't Nothing

They're obviously not giving a fuck about chart position, otherwise they wouldn't be selling the second CD only through their own store.

Yeah I didn't understand the logic of this with the last single either. Maybe it's a limited edition perhaps? I always wonder what happens with how many singles are made on CD and vinyl and what happens to singles that don't sell.

There is at least one other store that seems to be selling the second CD: Recordstore - can't remember if they did the same for the last single but then pulled CD2 or not.
