I also doubt they'd buy it tbh. They won't pay for it if they know they can simply rip it from Youtube or download the torrent.

I'd like some free tunes too. But, nope, I pay for almost everything.

Hmm, me too. Though when I said that at work, everyone looked at me oddly.

I pay for my music too. But I guarantee the majority of the people in my class at College either rip music from Youtube or download it illegally.

Music isn't free. I don't like paying for multiple copies of music, i.e. the CD, the MP3 download. I've bought it once and I should be able to put it on my MP3 player.

I never illegally download or rip anything. Not for any moral reason (I'm hardly the most moral person on the planet) I just like to know I own the music I have.

Same. I like to have a hard copy and know that I own it. I can't be doing with illegal software that completely fucks up your computer and gives you viruses. It isn't worth it.

Youtube rips sound, well, a bit shit. I don't download music illegally, I just don't want a nasty ass virus and I'm too old to get into that habit. And you know what, with a disposable income, I can afford to buy my own music. It sounds way sweeter. Buying a song is the only way I can show my appreciation to a band or singer. I don't know them, I'm never going to meet them or speak to them. But with my few pence, I've said thank you. There you go Manics, don't go spending that 80p all at once. Oi Bradfield, stay away from the penny chews!

This is how much artists earn from downloads etc:

After all the Manics I've listened to on Spotify, I've given them a good couple of quid

I'm 14 and no one in my classes downloads music. They all rip it from youtube, and quite frankly, no one likes the Manics! Except for me of course

I can't believe anyone actually rips audio off Youtube. I'm hardly an audiophile, but man that's some shitty quality sound right there.

People genuinely seem shocked that I buy CDs, they think it a rare occurrence to but a download, CDs are brilliant though, I won't show them the tapes and vinyl I have quite yet.
