My point was more touring under the banner of a Greatest Hits tour rather than touring at all. By all means do a few gigs at christmas as a one off but don't make out like theyre going to be any different to any gig they've done in the last 12 years let alone 12 months, especially in terms of set. Surely it's up to them how much they play and at what point they get saturated...If you're saturated with them because you've seen them lots of times, I don't quite see why you are so upset at a reasonable suggestion of giving it a break. I didn't see much evidence from their performances last week that they'd played too many gigs? The setlists this week were very different to last year, so it's not like they are playing identical setlists. The greatest hits is a fair point, but presumably if they are touring under that banner it will be a few gigs to promote a compilation, which makes sense, I guess.

Maybe I should have added 'without being told not to bother going to gigs anymore' on to the end of that sentence.

It wasn't wondering about it, it was saying 'no more gigs'...and to which the obvious response, unlike 'I wish they'd play xxxx' is to just not bother going. There's a difference between loving their gigs but wishing they'd play something you'd want to see and wishing for no gigs.

There's also a difference between thinking it's a bit pointless to have another tour this year (particularly one labelled 'greatest hits'...if that is what's going to happen of course) and actively 'wishing' for no gigs though. I've heard others say they weren't sure what the point of this mini tour was, but that doesn't mean they didn't enjoy it, or wished it hadn't happened.

I didn't decide what someone else should or shouldn't do.

Well you keep saying the only answer is to not go see them. I think we're all able to make our own minds up about whether or not to go to a gig. Unless Sean is putting his gun collection to use and forcing people in to going...

Well what is the answer to 'but please no more gigs' then? That is wishing for no more gigs. No-one's forced to go to gigs, if you are fed up because you've been to too many for your personal taste and got bored, I'm not sure why just not going is not the obvious solution, more than the Manics actually not doing more gigs, when they and other fans want them to.

Why does there need to be an answer? It's just someone's opinion. And I think we've established about 100 times that no one is forced to go to gigs, which is why I'm suggesting you don't need to state the bleeding obvious. Those who don't want to go won't go and those who do will. I think most of us have said we're bored of some aspect of their gigs at some point, but that doesn't stop us coming back for more (or enjoying it once we're there).

Yeah, and it's my opinion answering it...if you don't want a discussion, I would suggest (note, not telling you what to do) not saying things in the first place.

They did a fairly extensive tour less than a year ago, so I imagine a large chunk of people got to see them anyway.

Probably...but the point still stands, if you think they are boring, or they are doing too many gigs, there's an easy solution which you can solve yourself.

I never even said they were boring! I said I was bored of a few of their songs, but overall enjoyed the gigs. This tour was a lot better than the PFAYM tour.
