I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of more dates is down to venues with suitable ambience, as well as size and such - there aren't places many I can imagine The Holy Bible being played in, in most I reckon it would just feel weird and wrong. That doesn't explain the lack of a Wolves Civic date, admittedly, but other factors like wanting to keep the tour short will. I do struggle to think of a Welsh venue that would feel appropriate though (that may be down to my lack of knowledge of course). I think there'll be a lot of things taken into consideration behind each and every choice they've made here, this is no ordinary tour.

Cardiff might simply feel too weird to them, with the connection and all.

Colston Hall in Bristol would have been a reasonable option for Welsh folks and those in the West, but it is quite short notice to book venues, so I suspect quite a few of them might not have been available in December anyway. So for me it is going to have to be the Roundhouse.

I think it's actually fair to assume that the venues have been reserved or at least unofficially pencilled-in for a while now.

There seems to have been a lot of talk on FD over the last few days about promoters booking things at the last minute and giving us all very little notice, and so on, but actually in the last few weeks and months we've been told over and over and over again that it was the band themselves who were the sticking point, and that they only made a final decision a week ago. In other words, the promoters are promoting as early as they were able.

Early last week Nicky and James were saying that they 'had to' make a final decision imminently, and I think that's very likely to have been down to some sort of deadline regarding those pencilled-in venues.

This is my thought as well. We know this is hard for the band and we're really lucky they're going to do it at all! Give the band a break!

I can't help but think many of the people who are complaining about no Welsh date are really annoyed about there being no South Wales date. If the band only played in North Wales for example, they'd be just as upset.

Right after the announcement people were writing comments on FB like 'why not a gig in x place', 'Why is there no Cardiff date, guys have forgotten their roots' and other negative comments. I know it's disappointing not to get a gig close to home, it'll be a 4 hour round trip for me to attend the closest gig. But we're getting THB played in FULL. Sounds like we were close to not getting this. Be happy. Unless you don't get a ticket of course, then be upset/angry!

Yeah my friend actually told me about the Barrowlands date a couple of weeks ago (he's pals with the guy who does the bookings). I've no idea how long they've been booked but I imagine the venues have been on hold for a while.

Apparently there was a pre-sale before the general release?

Pretty sure there wasn't. Unless O2 or something.

Nope. In fact I emailed one of the venues to ask if they'd be running a presale and was told "we would have liked to but the band's management have specifically forbidden presales for these shows". I've seen similar comments on the Roundhouse's website too. Why they'd do that I've no idea, but there you go.

If you mean the top/most recent comment, that is from November of last year and will be referring to tickets for the tour back in April.

The immediate sight of those messages frustrated me to act without properly reading the dates. My bad...
