[QUOTE=everlasting;2084891]Unless we want James to climb into the pit and start punching the front row one by one.......
Though there should be a competition of who can get a photo with him post gig closest to the Blackstar face, figure out a prize later ![]()

I've now been listening to the album for about 10 days, and my feelings have changed a little. After an early, initial love for the pop tracks, basically those at the front end of the album, it's now the rockier second half that's grabbing me again and again. I've come to realise it really is an album of two parts, separated by Auto Intoxication. I still love it, and 'The Future...' has definitely moved up on my favourites, which is really surprising me. Hazleton Avenue is still the weakest for me.
So 'rock' is now ahead of the 'pop', with the exception of the brilliant Golden Platitudes and The Descent. Oh fuck,I'm contradicting myself now. For me it's as good for the pop rock MSP as JFPL was for the dark rock MSP.

I think it's definitely a record of two halves, although I'd say that the mood changes after Golden Platitudes, where the tracks loose the strings and become a bit more varied in style. It's a bit like Low by David Bowie, but without the instrumentals at the end. |

There's lots of albums that have two halves though. Usually all the good ones being at the start then it's skippity skip towards the end. Not in this case though.
