After looking at your Twitter photos I can confirm I was standing right beside you guys - I recognise you all (so we were smelling the same farts!) I was just to your left

I take it you were standing? The problem with the Olympia in the standing area is people constantly going in and out of the bar. I can see how when a song not too familiar to some fans like 'Divine Youth' was played the fans got a bit apathetic. I was in the Upper Circle directly above the band and heard Divine Youth clearly.

The Holy Bible live was fantastic as i knew it would be after seeing the clips during the week.
Best gig for me since the Lifeblood tour at the same venue 10 years ago. The Dublin crowd were even alright for a change (although there was a lot of Cork people there ![]() Yes was a tiny tiny bit off as Sean's monitor wasn't working or something, but other than that it was perfect. Faster without that fucking organ was top notch. I wish they just stayed as a 3 piece. We moved back after THB set and watched from afar. After hearing all these shit stories from the same area I'm glad we did, as i was a little tender from the night before. Cheers to the lad that had taken a pic of the set from the sound desk, so i had advanced warning to plan a toilet/merch trip during Postcards. But at least it was the first time I've seen them since PPF that i didn't have to endure Your Love Alone. No 1985 was disappointing , but these little moans are just that, little. I was there to see THB and it was glorious. Nice to see a few of you too. Great atmosphere. |

OK I will admit I'm pretty much a semi functioning hikikomori who never goes anywhere anymore, but have 'Dublin crowds' become that bad in the 10 years since I did? o_O

Too many event junkies at most gigs these days unfortunately. Not just Dubs, it's just most gigs worth going to happen to be on in Dublin. Irish festivals are overrun with wankers who would plonk themselves in front of the stage and then turn their backs to it and start blowing bubbles at each other and painting each others faces. Going to gigs can often feel like walking into an 02 ad. With last nights gig selling out straight away i had a feeling it would be fine and it was.

Guess the one and only Dublin gig I attended (Rewind the Film tour last year) was a one off? It was one of the best on that tour, crowd was really up for it, atmosphere was electric.

So glad they played the Olympia - such a pretty venue and so perfect in terms of barriers. It was clear that we wouldn't queue early so we came at doors and got a perfect space at the secone barrier. I loved the first set although it was (obviously) rather intense. And I was very happy that we got PFAYM. All in all brilliant gig (apart from the farting incident
