I have to say that my opinion has not changed since I wrote my review 3 weeks ago. The more I listen to PFAYM, the more I love the tracks I said I liked and the more I dislike the tracks I said I didn't like. So yeah, no real change for me after a good 50 listens or so.

In reality, it's only three formats.
Still, considering the moaning you've been doing...

Likewise, although Golden Platitudes has shot up the rankings for me. The title track is firmly at number 1, it HAS to be a single. Shame that whatever the band release will probably flop, regardless of quality.

It's now (after 3 weeks) a great album. Even Ringo's song near the end sounds great with the choir

You probably already know by now that La_Fouinard has that angle well and truly covered, yes?

Picked up the deluxe edition in HMV yesterday afternoon. Not 100% gone on the shiny gold foil cover.

The album is storming. I avoided all the leaks and shit to listen to it in it's true form.

you always expect an album to hit you in the face? i hated dark side of the moon for the first 3 listens, felt it had little substance. You can't judge an album on first listen mate, the best albums require a bit more effort.

Even JFPL took a bit of growing on me and i love it now. there are a couple of tracks on postcards i'm not in love with, huge fan of autointox, future and SKON though

Also i was thinking earlier on another note (this isnt aimed at you obviously) that people think when say about them getting it wrong with "one last shot at mass communication" that they might not be saying literally that they want to emulate EMG apart from it being accessible to more people than JFPL(i dont think they are that similar personally).....but rather that they arent going to be concerned about what type of music they put out in future. It could mean all sorts of things - in fairness JFPL was hardly targetted at mass communication - one single, put off a lot of fairweather fans, controversial cover (deliberate or not).

i think its pretty exciting, means its hard to know whats coming next. Could be the greatest era of the manics if they have little commercial aspiration (anyone think they did with THB?!)
