Thank you Porco! James didn't mention the Lindsay Buckingham influence for nothing! And what's cringeworthy about the lyrics??? It's a fabulous song and should have been a single!

Well that would be fine if Albatross was in the era of Lindsay Buckingham's Fleetwood Mac

Still pretty much the sound JDB was aiming for. It was THAT interview in Guitarist mag in 2004 () where James spoke about it. Might not have been Buckingham who played on Albatross but I think Glasnost bears a few similarities to it.

They should have been selective with the choice of singles and made room for album tracks so JFPL could be represented and we could have had one or two of the better tracks from Lifeblood. Classics like Yes and NSAF could have got on too.

It's a collection of the singles though so there wouldn't be much point in putting album tracks on it I would have thought.

They could have, but it would kind of defeat the object of releasing a singles collection...

Yeah, what some are forgetting is that Sean has already said that Sony will be putting out one of these every ten years, so it stands to reason that we're a decade or two away from 'The Ultimate Collection' or 'The Very Very Best Of'.

Then we can have No Surface All Feeling, Yes and PCP. But not Glasnost.

That's one thing that annpys me about being a Fleetwood Mac fan - the fact that Peter Green often forgets forgotten.

Well someone needs to sit Sony down and tell them that since the advent of downloads the days of single collections have gone out the window.

Aye, that would have worked if Nicky hadn't described it as 'an album of singles'

Shame really, as he was such a gifted musician and he did give Fleetwood Mac their band name.

Anyway, I've ordered the box set, with the DVD. I was expecting it to be quite expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised at the affordable price tag.
