I'd be happy if this first (or only) album was not recieved or promoted as a reaction to Postcards. I don't want it to be KYE MK2 or Lifeblood 1.0.

Hmm, I sort of hope they do stay true to form and react to/disown Postcards... because Postcards was, for once, actually shit.

Actually, he only scrambles the vowels slightly (and he arguably does that in English as well!). His German pronunciation is definitely better than his French.

Yeah, I guess so too, I mean, that his German is better than French. But the wovel sounds are very important too in a language, if you mispronounce them too much, people won't understand you. On the other hand, if you mix consonants, even though there are words with simmilar sounds meaning different things if you replace a, for example, "k" with "kk", if the wovels are pronounced correctly, or almost correctly, it will be easier for native speakers to understand you.

I, for example, until I've read the lyrics of The Intense Humming of Evil and realised it was German (and I was studying German for four years in high school and heard a lot of German and Austrian tourists every summer since I was young), his "arbeit macht frei" sounded like "I'll beat mah friend", but James doesn't look so aggressive, does he? It was weird.

And as for his "French" in La Tristesse, he's pronounsing it pretty much like Spanish, in fact, I wasn't sure which of the two languages they were aiming to at first.

And about his English, I won't comment too much because it's his native language and he may as well play with it and modify it as he pleases. And anyway English is spoken in too many places in the world as a native and official tongue, resulting in too many too various ways of pronounciation and none of them is wrong.

I don't speak much French or German; out of curiosity, how are they supposed to be pronounced?

Having lived in Wales for 8 years I've picked up many of those elongated vowel sounds. Sometimes it sounds a bit american as well. I have a scottish accent with welsh and yorkshire pronunciations in it (parents are yorkshire) making for a weird combo

What is it with this song? I probably haven't heard it in like 25 years, then yesterday I hear it twice in the same day on two separate radio stations, now it's linked here.

Zee, it's played here regularly. Especially on the classic rock station.
