I thought his voice peaked on Lifeblood, not so good live anymore though

I dunno. Still think his voice is pretty powerful.

He still sings the same notes but in a different pitch.
He's much better live now than years ago, the Lifeblood tour was also the best I'd heard his voice though. |

The man has got a voice and a half, JCEQT is a good example or Marlon J.D.

It's live where James suffers a bit these days, he almost always ducks out of the "you giiiiiive-yaaahhh!!" bit at the end of the breakdown on ME. I know he has to protect it live, but I do long for the days when he'd give each song 100%.

Yes, and Albini said 'Awesome!' so there you go!

You don't argue with Albini, at least not twice you don't.
It's nice to be a massive fan of a band who even people that don't like them admit that the singing is amazing.

Steve Albini comes across as one of those scary people who you probably can't tell what he's really thinking until he comes out with it.

ISTR some really interesting debates w/ him back in the day. So you can DO it but you better be equally intelligent and have the capability to be equally scathing.

Yes, I imagined him being like that so interesting to know he's like that for real! I'm sure he's not too scary once you get to know him!

I htink James has a great voice, but live nowadays it's not all him. Maybe only 85%.
I'd love to see him sing EMG like he used to at the end "-ATION!!!!!" instead of singing high pitched like a 4 year old girl, I dislike that so much. Design for Life isn't the same I've noticed in the last year or two, but oh well. Still great.

Ha! Ha! He was saying in an interview about his voice being a bit squeaky sometimes. When he was in the choir at school he hoped his voice would break soon! He mentioned being impressed with Paul Weller's voice.

I think he might still be capable of some high notes, but he's note really written any since 'The Everlasting' which was very high pitched in parts. Funny how it kind of seemed to stop about the time Travis, Coldplay and Muse made high pitched male vocals fashionable.
