if i recall the same article, Liam's was based on the fact that he and Noel, perhaps wisely, had shoved a great deal of their royalties from DM and MG into untouchable and untaxable offshore pension funds. it was either that or Liam going into a bottle store saying "87 million cans of lager, please".

nice one if the Manics are raking it in. there would be little point them doing all that they do if they didn't get rewarded for it.

and The Who got $250,000 for a one hour set at Woodstock in 1969, a fee they wisely insisted on up front before playing.

inflation hasn't hit rock an roll, then?

Well, not by the music industry standards, I wouldn't say. It's pretty rich, but not very very rich.

the only time i can recall them mentioning money was around TIMTTMY, when they were asked about the financial success that came with EMG. James was rather modest, saying that he could now afford the hardback of books instead of waiting for the paperback, and could rather get albums on vinyl rather than CD.

Did they say once that they kept Richey's money aside for him in case he ever came back?

Now he's legally dead I assume those royalties have gone to his family?

They still pay money into an account for him.

As far as I could gather, when his parents had him declared dead, that was so they could sort out his affairs - by which they mainly meant sell the Cardiff flat and other bits and pieces of admin. His money stays in the account until/incase he comes back.

but the spanish newspaper " el pais" said that when richye was declared oficially dead he had 500000 pounds in his personal fortune. I don´t believe that james, nicky and sean have much more than this.

Thay always said that they put richie part in a bank count. They finished with this in 2008 when he was declared dead. These gains were to be a member of the original grouping
