Sounded fab to me, james is in particularly fine voice and they’re all well rehearsed.
I get a thrill watching something very mainstream like a radio 2 gig while on the rear screens in huge lettering you see choice lyrics like ‘reject all propaganda’, ‘so if I can shoot rabbits then I can shoot fascists’, ‘libraries gave us power’… How very manics, slipping a bit of subversion under the door and it should be cherished.

Inner eye opening to the stepped scarlet pyramid of the Eastern Seaboard Fission Authority burning beyond the green cubes of Mitsubishi Bank of America, and high and very far away he saw the spiral arms of military systems, forever beyond his reach. And somewhere he was laughing, in a white-painted loft, distant fingers caressing the deck, tears of release streaking his face. Last edited by Tim; 09-09-2021 at 15:06. |

For the gear heads in FD, it is very strange seeing James playing a P90 guitar for Motorcycle Emptiness. The guitar sound is just that much weirder with the cleaner and drier P90 sound. All good fun.

I really love Complicated Illusions. First thing I've actually bothered to Download from iPlayer!
Did have Cardiff Castle and far back as PFAYM Strictly, but those on locked and lost inside a malfunctioning Skybox. Don't Let The Night Divide Us had an ending that took me by surprise. It did come across as Manics go Pink Floyd at the start, but Motorcycle Emptiness shook back the This Is Manics. Been so great to actually see it after all this time. Have a fucking great night whoever goes to see them this year! |

Just watching now. Much more enjoyable listening to International Blue without that goon Fitzjohn taking it over.

The show really is the best recorded thing they’ve done since forever. Even You Stole the Sun is dynamic and fantastic. The new songs sound really big. Really enjoyed this.

Aaaah that was lovely, tho slightly distracted by Nicky's jacket making my brain think of ice-cream sellers and punting on the Thames
Agree it's the best TV/radio gig they've done in ages , James sounds great - did someone say he was struggling further up the thread at this?? Didn't see any evidence of that. I liked the new songs - looking forward to blasting the album into my earholes tomorrow ... "looks at clock" errr later!

I had to watch this again so i put the big speakers on and turned it up. They sound fantastic i have to say, james in such good voice and it might be a definitive version of let robeson sing as i don't think i've heard it live as good as this. The little cheeky wink to cat southall during the secret he had missed just kinda tops it off! Probably because he forgot to sing that little bit of vocals? How good does she sound by the way?
