I think it'd be a brilliant idea cos I'm going to see Suede. Then again, you say Suede are a retro act, and Nicky says "expect more stuff from the back catalogue in may". Not sure what Suede are up to, like. Like to see em head back into the studio but if not at least I've seen em again. Unless I have to sell a ticket so I can see Manics

The "clash with Suede" refers to what was said after the Hard Rock Cafe gig last week. Either Nicky or James hinted that their dates in May *might* clash with the Suede gigs.

Aye, but I'm just clinging to the wild fantasy that they're gonna support Suede and play The Holy Bible before they play Dog Man Star. Shouldn't have much longer to cling to that..

in my dream scenario it would be Dog Man Star followed by The Holy Bible...

or how about Dog Man Star covered by the Manics, followed by Suede covering The Holy Bible. Imagine, just imagine... :O

The Manics did support Suede on a European tour in 94. I saw them both in Paris. So i got to hear THB before DMS. It was brilliant.

22nd November? I've got the tour poster on the wall straight infront of me. Damn me being 11. Yes, I'm stupidly jealous but I like ya so it's alright. I don't think I could forgive you if you told me it was crap though!

That said, I'm going to attempt to ignore this thread till the dates are announced. My heart skips a beat everytime I see someone's posted in it. It's not good.

I guess it's one advantage to being older! James came outside and said "You are Colin Phipps?" to one of their French fans who used to write to James and phone his parents home number! Simon Price was there too reviweing some of the shows for Melody Maker.

Come on Manics, tell us when it is, there's planning needed.

The Manics have indicated that they'll play a more oldies-based set.

It will be great to hear long-forgotten favourites like Motown Junk, You Love Us, Motorcycle Emptiness, Slash 'n' Burn, La Tristesse Durera, Roses In The Hospital, Faster, This Is Yesterday etc.

Oh hang on...didn't they bang those out on the last tour?

Sorry for the cynicism but the Manics are very well known for clinging on to stuff they were doing 20 years ago.

I did just have some pizza actually. But it was the biggest slice you've ever seen for 3.00 so I can't complain.
