It's just one song from the album too. It's rare that I like every song on anyone's album....so..

still a "hmmmmmmmmmm...." from me after a few more listens.

i'm always happy with "throwaway" Manics, but when they were talking out and out pop, motown, strings etc, i was hoping for something along the lines of their take on 'out of time' - not this.

Hmmmmmmm. I think with most of my fave albums from various bands etc I like all of the songs on them. I'm talking about my absolute faves here!

At the moment I'm not itching to listen to the song again too quickly. I'm looking forward to the single release now more for the b-sides than the single itself, despite liking it.

Yeah so I just found myself singing along to this while giving it another listen so I suppose that's a sign of something.

I'm determened not to listen to it until I buy the CD single from HMV. So they'd better start ordering some at my local one OR ELSE!!!!!

Ah, Gutless, surrender to the radio rip. It's legal and it'll let you let out a brand new fan squee as you hear new material, rather than have to painfully wait till the single release two months away.

i've played it just three or four times. I like it and I prefer it to YLAINE i think. I don't want to overplay it as i want it to still be *new* come september. As others have said JFPL is a product on its own so comparing the two is pointless. Having said that i couldn't help comparing my reaction to Peeled Apples which was less excited this time. Anticipation for its not war... was at my normal 100% whereas for JFPL it was at a million per cent!

I do need to play it again as i've only heard it via youtube on my phone and i didnt notice nicky's dulcit tones

still excited about the album

Frankly, I'd be worried if there was anything vaguely resembling consensus.

I'm so glad someone else mentioned this, because I felt the very same thing. In fact, I put on Greatest Denier after it just to find out whether or not I was completely off-base in my comparison. I didn't think I was.

(That said, "Greatest Denier" is a much better song than this.)
