Didn't spot any familiar faces despite there being so many FDers in attendance. Glad everyone had a good time. Sorry about James GW, if anyone deserves to meet him, it's you.

They found the water I'd stashed at the bottom of my bag and confiscated it, so I was really thirsty by the end. Being little and polite I don't like to leave my spot as I'll never get in again - people don't generally respond to 'excuse me, please' at gigs!

Happily though that's the best I've ever seen them. Like most of us here I've been to every tour since 2004 and they've never been that up for it. James playing around, Nicky at his best, a very strong setlist and the crowd were amazing.

Strangely Of Walking Abortion didn't get much of a reaction from the folk where I was, and SSI was greeted with a smattering of polite applause but the cheer for Motorcycle Emptiness signalled the tone of the evening.

I don't know that EMG acoustic was one of JDB's better choices. It was great to hear and another one to tick off the list, but they seemed reluctant to do anything that would slow the pace of the evening (quite rightly!). Perhaps why only 1 acoustic as well?

Brilliant gig - the most self assured I've seen them. Even if they do crack about Lifeblood songs at least they're playing *something* now. In 10 years time Nicky will be insisting it's their best record and I'm sure Glasnost will be a regular.

Hope they can go away and come back just as strong. Seems like they're planning a long sabbatical after that tweet last night?
The guys behind me thought OWA was Revol when it started up. I did see a lot of confused faces with SSI prompting one guy to lament 'what are you doing?!'.
I liked acoustic EMG especially the flamenco flourishes! It's good to hear his voice on that one as usually it can get drowned out by the kitchen sink arrangement.

I loved the Richard Burton (I think?) dialogue that was played over the instrumental section of ADFL - that made my night*

Nice to see everyone again and meet a few new people, liked the setlist except OWA but you can't have it all, and James' voice was EPIC.

(* along with legs-out Wire, his lovely compliments *blush* and Saxy in nice fucking sexy tight jeans )

EMG was teriffic, I just thought some of the previous acoustics have worked a little better. I'm just glad to hear anything TBH!

I loved the 'who's responsible' playing before they came on. That was great.

Struck me last night that my previous complaints about setlists (particularly Birmingham last december) were actually less about what they played and more how they played it. I'm normally sitting there hoping for Revol or Bag Lady or something, but last night I found the best songs were the biggies - purely because of the performance. Faster and ME were immense.

Don't think me or Kevin got a break from the crush! Seemed constantly pushed against the barrier.

Meeting them afterwards was a but difficult. There were quite a lot chasing after them. Guess they ran out of time.

Edinburgh last Oct was good as they had a great long barrier and everyone got their turn.

To be fair to him it wasn't 'pushing us out of the way' as such. Just getting us to move back nearer the side of the coach cos the people at the front weren't dispersing. I think if you've had a pic taken, got something signed and had a few minutes chat you should do the decent thing and let people waiting behind have a chance as well.

Absolutely. Sorry to hear that it didn't go so well, G If anyone deserved a little fan face-time, it's you

Aye, it's not really James himself I'm upset with as I realise he's probably worn out after the gig and trying to keep this mob of people happy. Hope the ones getting multiple signings aren't just gonna flog them on Ebay - some of them probably will sadly!

Aaaaaaaaw! Thanks! Ah well, the quest continues. At least I got to say I was a Forest fan in his ear, even if he probably wasn't even listening to me!

I'll get a slap for not using multi-quote again! My bad! Well, I don't deserve to meet him any more than anyone else. At least they try and get out to meet the fans when they are able to. Because of the large numbers there's no guarantee you'll get the chance. Glad a few folks on here managed it!
