The overall sound I like the most was around the Truth era. He had some lovely bass tones with a nice rock twang to them, and a really heavy turn when needed. I think he was probably still playing mostly with a pick then too. Perhaps not the most technically advanced, but good enough to provide the backbone for what was then a one guitar liveband.

Around the time of TIMT-LB.
He seems to be a bit dodgy live at the moment when i'm listening back on recordings. That said his Peter Hook moment in 30 Year War was ace on the tour. |
