Why are you spending so much of your free time posting negatives and citing your lack of passion for the band? If you don't like them, there is a plethora of other bands' material to get your ears round surely?!
Listen without me helping to give us guys a platform to express our inenthusiasm (yes I made that word up) of the latest Manics output then the front page of this subforum would be full of bloody album games crap.

This is an area for discussion and there has been a lot more lately from these threads and from others. I think thats a positive whether you agree with the OP's line of thought or not.

I am not recreating the same threads. This was inspired by listening to todays BBC 6 music interview that had about 20% interview to 80% the hits.

The Manics are looking for new fans and the longtime stalwarts are not being kept in mind. It will catch up with them with this project.

I'm bored of people who are now bored of the Manics telling us how bored they are of them. I DON'T CARE!!!!! I am a fan and they give me great excitement!

It works as a word, thing is, this isn't personal, but every so often there's a 'not too keen on the Manics new stuff' thread, and without being cliquey, it gets very annoying if you've been here a while, just ressurect an old thread.

And album games do dominate the subforum anyway

It was an acoustic session, why is it so wrong that they played hits exactly?

They haven't forgotten stalwarts but they're entitled to try and gain new fans, they want wide appeal, you don't do that by making another Holy Bible and only acknowledging the fans who go to every gig.

the design of the interview had nothing to do with the band. Thats what happens with all bands that have been around for a while. DJs will look at the past..they wont just talk about the present

While I too am unimpressed with what I've heard so far from this album I feel that the constant creation of threads detailing how disappointed you are is bordering on attention seeking. No one is begrudging you an opinion but I really don't think it warrants its own thread when there are already plenty of threads you could post in discussing the band, the new album and the various versions.

Did anyone hear them on bbc6 earlier today? It was a great interview with James and Nicky going through their past and how the band started.

The manics were the first band that got me into music when I was 16 and like any band they've had their ups and downs over the years, even so I've never gotten bored of them. Yes my music tastes have developed since I first heard a design for life all those years ago and maybe some of their music now doesn't satisfy me as it once did but for me they've always been more interesting than so many other bands. I owe the manics a lot for being the soundtrack to my ups and downs over the past 14 years and I can't say that about any other band.

As opposed to the threads that are created about a particular radio session and all the posts are just people saying what is being played on the radio that everyone can hear anyway? How is proevpete's thread any less relevant than that?

It's not really promoting discussion when you create a whole bunch of topics about the exact same subject, it's just spamming the board as much as the games are. Stick with one of your other topics about the matter and encourage discussion there - there was some great one going on in a few of the past ones before you pulled a plug on them so you could just post another one from the scratch.

Because there's one thread for the program and it gives people a chance to share the excitement, they're not relevant but they're fun to follow at the time. This happens all the time in every thread

People were saying they missed it (and Tom and Fuzzy simply chose to not acknowledge it ) so I had an identity crisis and changed it again.
