I prefer the mood of the demo.

Are all the demos on youtube?
Also, where do I access these archives or whatever they are that are closed off until you have enough posts (I have had enough for over a week I think) |

It's a band effort either way. But I'm with MSPKYE on the vocals!

Does anyone know what Marlon J.D. is actually about out of interest?

Yep. Some of them, at least - I'm listening to the It's Not War demo now, and it's very different to James' version. Really made me question the wisdom of the man, the happiness of James' performance robbed the song of all meaning.

Hmm the SKON one is quite nice... the It's Not War one is not so nice I don't think.

I'd do it myself except I've yet to manage to sneak a video past Sony on YouTube. I know This Joke Sport Severed makes that video quite good. |

However I do like him on SKON and as I stated in a separate thread, I'd like if he did Ian's parts on tour. |

Just read the track-by-track thing on the official website.... Nicky's certainly created with full music and lyrics for Golden Platitudes and SKON but Bradders seems to be taking the credit for INWJEOL, musically anyway, as he says he "wanted it to have a hint of longing and that feeling that Gary McCallister had in the 2001 UEFA Cup Final for Liverpool."

Don't want Nicky doing Ian's part of SKON on tour!

I think "The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever" is the first song sung by Nicky that feels like it's had the same love and attention as all of the others on the album.

So essentially, the only reason It's Not War is Nicky's poorest effort on the album is because it's not actually his version. If they'd just built on his one rather than having JDB rewrite it, he might have been responsible for the best four songs on the album... (I can see why they did it though - the mood of Nicky's version is completely different from the rest of the album.)
