I never remember hearing it when it came out,my memory of adfl is hearing it continuously in the foyer of omniplex cinema. My favourite manics song

I must have seen the Welsh Tourist Board advert at some point cos I definitely remembered it when I first listened to EMG.

I remember it was my best friend that got into ADFL first and all she'd go on about was the manics. It used to annoy me cos I thought they were taking her away from me. LOL. Bear in mind we were still kids...

Vague memories... I'd been lent THB a few months before. I can't remember what I thought of the song but I seemed glad they'd come back.
Happy birthday then. 1996... No. I'd rather not go there. The here and now is all etc.

I was not aware of the Manics in 1996 which was a great shame really. Wish I'd got into them in my last few years of school!

It came out the day after my 17th birthday. I was too lazy to get on a bus and go to a 'proper' record shop so I bought it from Woolworths. The tape format has the Bright Eyes cover from the Astoria on it which was the number one song in the charts when I was born. How cool is that? ADFL is still the best leading single off any album they've made since.

I actually can't remember hearing it at all at the time. I was 4 almost 5. But I'm pretty sure I heard it on the radio or something.

Interesting bit of trivia for you. In Glossop there is an estate agents called "Design For Life." I personally enjoy the fact that this shop shares its name with a song about the decline of socialism

I was fed up with ADFL long before i got into the manics. It's a great single, but at the time it was over played and it didn't make me go out and buy the album. I didn't buy EMG until i had got into the first three albums.

Design gets played to death now as well on the radio! I'm like 'what about their newer stuff?'.

At least you hear Manic on the radio. it's very rare my country to hear Manics on the radio and I do, I'm freaking out with joy.

I still do that with Design anyway. Any Manics is good!
