Aye, that was amazing. They really ought to reissue that with all interviews and pics chucked in from the last 10 years.

i can get where people don't like the tracklisting and that, but thirteen quid for a vinyl album is not exactly a rip off.

It's £13 for yet another version of an album full of songs that everyone already has, except for just one new track - only available on this - that they know people feel they have to have.

It's a rip off in the sense I thought it was an issue dedicated to the Manics. Essentially it's £13 for a new song (a cover) and a cover pic of the Manics. Last year Slash released his solo album for £14 in a special edition of Classic Rock but at least the whole issue was dedicated to him and his career. But its just my opinion. I'm seriously tempted by the NT box and so I'm just a hypocrite anyway.

Look on the bright side, you get an issue devoted to bands better than the Manics instead. You couldn't make it up.

Nirvana FTW.

yeah, fair enough from the "one new song" perspective. from my side there's a large number of songs on there that i do not have on vinyl so it makes sense to get it.

the inevitable mp3 will do the rounds for the one new track there. not ideal, but if the band and the label don't wish for you to be able to purchase it legally, fair and square, there you go.

So, uh, just for clarification... there are 25 different covers(?!) of next month's Q, but the Manics cover is only available if you buy the edition with the vinyl?

Thank christ it's not 25 different Manics covers. I think I'd buy them all and then have a bonfire to celebrate my own pathetic fandom.

It's exclusively aimed at morons, so who cares. Morons need things to buy too, even if they have no value.

maybe it's made of elf skin and printed with pixie blood with pictures of Lord Lucan doing unspeakable sex acts with Shergar, that's the only way to justify the price in my own warped opinion

I'm a bit lost as to who this is aimed at. Who is going to buy a vinyl record in WH Smiths ?

I don't think I get it with all those different versions just yet... but do they ship the magazine-vinyl outside the UK? At least we get a new song here..
