Up next for the Manics is a Gorillaz-style project where they're all depicted as hot blonde teen anime girls. It will have guest vocals from any current female artists who'll take the money.

I'd echo what others have said about recording music like that of The Vorticists and You Know It's Going To Hurt, plus the FD b-sides. Really interesting sounding music that sits somewhere inbetween the 'two versions of the band'. I also really liked the music of Journal but that might just be down to production.

Journal's production wasn't really that special, tbh, IMO it's pretty standard stuff. It probably just seems better than it actually is because the album's sandwiched SATT and PFAYM, both of which have the sort of average commercial rock production that's a bit of a non-entity.

I want something raw in sound, like JFPL demos, with James' writing lyrics and Nicky on main vocals, short songs like 2-3 minutes and the whole album not longer than 40 minutes. Sean's solo on trumpet required.

plenty of guitar riffs, production not too polished and james' voice to be rejuvenated.

it would be quite nice to have an album where not even one song is dedicated to their past, and on the tour they'd played more than 5 songs off the new album. ho hum, a boy can dream.

in fact I don't. I'm through the feeling like I know the only truth and I should be an apostole or umm... 'a preacher' of it and tell it to everyone and everybody on this planet should understand they are the greatest band ever. so if nobody buys it but me, I don't care. I'm happy I know how amazing the Manics are. the others don't have to.

Well I hope by the time they come to do some more recording that James' voice is a lot better than on This is The Day.

I'd like a harder, sharper, dirtier sound from them, while there's still some fire left in their bellies.
