What if... Nick Naysmith dissapeared? Not as in dissappeared predumed dead, just dissapeared from live performances? Wouldnt that be great!

If Nicky had disappeared one of three things would have happened:
- Richey swapped to bass and had to start playing live - A new bassist brought into the group and continued under the name of the Manic Street Preachers - The band splits up. I believe the third is the most likely. From reports Richey was increasingly detached from the rest of the group and with the get out card presented would have decided to quit the group. James would then have gone on to form a new band, possibly with Sean still behind the drums. Possibly still playing Motorcycle Emptiness and other bits and pieces live. Who knows if they'd have had any success, especially compared to what the Manic achieved in the late nineties. |

Better lyrics and a different bass player.
Although they'd probably have split up. I've wondered if a major reason they didn't after Richey went is that they were already writing EMG and Richey was already involved. Had they had nothing, I reckon they may well have jacked it in.

If Nicky had disappeared, then who would have killed the zeitgeist?
