Mine is still lost in the system somewhere!

You are all way too patient, my sister knows how to complain, she'd have gotten a free bundle, a refund and a snog off the band by now. Or kicked Royal Mail's arse. Or indeed both.

I'd have to take on both Canada Post and Royal Mail.
Oh I can complain. Very well. My package arrived. James' signature is in bright blue. Nicky's and Sean's are black. Last edited by Frozendiva; 25-03-2011 at 23:02. |

They replied, but I had quoted the wrong order number. (D'oh! *slaps self on forehead*) They said that they had sent it in December. The number I quoted in my email was for the SKON order, so yes, they had sent it December, and we received it in December too!! Never write a complaining email when you're tired. Instead of my usual negativity, I'm going to try the power of positive thinking!! I am certain that it will arrive early next week.

Glad yours have arrived FrozenDiva and Richeysite! I'm hoping mine is in a sorting tray somewhere and will make it's way to me eventually!

Cara Cathau, if you live in a smaller city, it'll take longer. I had to go to fetch mine from the post office, since apparently the carrier couldn't put it in my mailbox at my door and didn't have some sort of barcode reader thing. It would have fit in the larger superbox cabinet, but oh no.
Gutless, you should get yours personally delivered! |

They should write a note of apology, that would be sweet, it's been out about a month now.

Guys, with the Royal Mail, if it's sent 1st class and arrives the next day, that's normal, and happens in somewhere around 90% of postings. If it arrives the day after, maybe there was just a lot of work on, or your thing got missorted into second class. If it arrives the day after that, ditto. It might take a day or so longer, but only if something unusual happens. The frequency with which items sent by Townsend Records are being delayed by a week or more can't be the Royal Mail's fault, because it simply isn't possible for them to perform that slowly, and especially not with that much frequency. So don't blame the Royal Mail - if your package takes three weeks to arrive, it's because Townsend have taken two weeks and six days to send it. If it hasn't arrived at all, and they're welcome to take me to court over libel for this if they're reading, it's because it wasn't sent at all. If it was mysteriously returned to them after however long without a red card being dropped through your letterbox, it wasn't because the postie's memory span only lasts half a second and he forgot to put the card through your letterbox, it's because they never bothered to send it in the first place.
Townsend Records reminds me of this shop I once bought some RAM from on eBay, called FastMemoryMan. After waiting a month for my stuff to be delivered, another buyer got in contact with me, and then another, all wondering where our stuff was. In the end, we all got our refunds. The other two were told that their RAM got "lost in the post", while I was told that the RAM was faulty, and it had been returned to them by the courier. They declined to answer my query of what the courier was doing testing my RAM. To be honest, I think they were just telling so many lies that they got their lines mixed up. Anyway folks, be aware when dealing with Townsend Records that under UK Distance Selling regulations, they are obliged to deliver to you within 28 days or issue you a full refund. Anyone waiting for stuff should try reminding them of that on the 25th day, it'll be a pretty much guaranteed way to have them sending your stuff on the 26th for it to be with you by the 27th. |

Red, sometimes the mail does end up in some basket or bin at the sorting depot. Normally you hear about this during the Christmas season. My international package took 9 days to get to me and 7 working days. Pretty much normal considering where I live. For the UK purchaser, anything past about a week is not really normal. It was either delivered to the wrong addy or is in some bin somewhere.
