That was absolutely fantastic! But was I the only person thrown by the lyric change in slash and burn?
Is that the "live to kill, kill for kicks" instead of "kill to live, kill for kicks" one?

lol yesterday's gig was no battlefield it was more like a picnic, calm which is fine for me but in the hay-day you would have constant crowd surfers, moshers, nutters, that dies down when the band changes direction in music as by the 4th & 5th LP it was just jumping up & down together, the true Indie scene.

So yeah - not much more to add to all this chat really. Just a fantastic night. REVOL a highlight for me too - absolutely emmense. I was expecting greatness from Love's Sweet Exile too but it came a bit early in the set, so didn't have quite the same effect. We were fairly near the front on Nicky's side and I must admit I was a bit surprised that the people around us weren't more lively - they tended to start to jump about to a fast one, then it'd fade off after the first chorus, but that was fine - I danced and pogoed regardless.

Was really worried about Nicky towards the end with all the wincing and shoulder-rubbing, but he ploughed on through and then some with the guitar smashing

Photos took forever to upload, but here we go. I went for quantity rather than quality with the piccies this time (and sorry, mostly Nicky, cos well, y'know...) but as a result managed to capture a few magic moments...

Then if you're really keen, LOADS more in my flickr album (I tried to edit them down, really I did).

The screens really made it for me (apart from during Faster where they were so out of synch with the song it was a bit distracting, and LBN was a bit odd), especially all the vintage footage. That certainly added to the sense of nostalgia and occasion.

All the ticker tape and arm-waving stopped me getting any pics of the guitar carnage - anyone at the front get some good'uns?

PS Mr Bowlase - just inspired and brilliant!

PPS was it just me or did Nicky look a bit upset that Nina just walked off and didn't go over and hug him?!

I've just got home! (finally)
What an absolutely fantastic weekend!!!
I was 2nd row, Wire side, for the first half, but then I went to meet my friend and go to the bar .
Thanks to all the lovely people I met, and to the Manics for making it a special night.

Also, Gruff Rhys and Nina Persson..

Glad you had a fab night!

My mum and Auntie said they would have gone with me (er, no thanks! ) if I'd mentioned it earlier. I was keeping an eye on the time on Saturday evening and trying to guess which songs would be being performed at certain times etc!

Haha, indeed, hardly a 'battlefield' or even a mosh pit. Manics gigs are always pretty tame compared to most even in the centre, which, don't get me wrong, is quite nice.

They only had small t-shirts left, so my mate had to get a small.
It's skin tight on him

Great gig. I've loved this band for twenty years and last night just reminds me why. On a completely separate issue, did anyone think the merchandise was a load of over priced crap? Apart from Nickys book which is a thing of beauty.

Small men's ones are fine for me. Did the tees have a pic of the NT album cover on them or what?

Yup I think they did, I wasn't really paying attention though.
I was in my own wee world!
