This is my actual favourite post of the entire thread.

In all seriousness: yes it is a new Manics song, Walk Me To The Bridge, which was apparently due to be released today but has been pushed back, but it seems a few places round the world didn't get the message and so put it on sale. Someone posted a stream this morning which is how some of us have heard it, but that has been taken down now.

And yes, those are the lyrics.

It's just I read the lyrics and assumed it had to be forumites parodying Nicky's lyrics... is anyone actually taking him seriously?

Seems James anad Sean did, and wrote the track to go with the lyrics (which must be the worst ever- my view only) or maybe its the other way round, anyway cant see it getting any songwriting award any time soon...

Love how it stops just when you are looking forward to a solo or something, leaves you wanting more. Is this the shortest single theyve ever released (excluding Suicide Alley perhaps) Just over the 3 min mark. To say i love this is a big understatement, the most upbeat thing theyve done since Forever Delayed. Couldn't give a shit how people view the lyrics, brilliant song regardless.

Upbeat? About a 'friends' apparent suicide? The Paul Burrells of pop/rock strike again!

Not heard it, but I heard New Order are penning an album about Ian Curtis. Lyrics aren't so great, but they'll be singing over the GREASE soundtrack, so all is well.

Erm, can someone describe the song please for those less fortunate to hear it so far?

80s sound?! No guitars?!

Grease isn't all happy go lucky itself, there's a good theory going round that the entire finale is actually a fantasy played out in a dying Sandy's mind during the final moments of her life. Hence the flying car scene.

Despair everywhere

There are guitars, just happens to be big synths laid over the chorus. Closest MSP song is definitely Forever Delayed if you ask me. Certainly in that vein, just with more synth.
