I remembered today something James said during the set to the front rows.. "I'm not saying you need therapy, but you might want to consider your life choices". Perhaps directed to the group in question?

That was in response to a banner or something shouted, though, right? (couldn't see what it said but thats what it seemed like from above).

Fantastic way to end the tour. I purposely went for the last night of the tour but was given a Manchester ticket too by a friend, which was perfect as I do (in my opinion) tend to prefer the crowds in the provinces. I used to live in London, and I always felt I was willing people around me to be more up for it, rather than take it all for granted. Anyway, it was the first time I've ever seen anyone, ever, more than once on a tour.

The crowd on Wednesday were fairly sound, apart from the guy standing at the back of the 'jumping' circle, who spent the whole gig shoving people into his own personal mosh-pit, especially people who were obviously just enjoying the experience from further back. I don't think he looked at the stage once. When he wasn't assaulting people (and then not getting involved, like the big man he was), he was doing elaborate air guitar. When people had a word with him, he just protested that he 'brought a ticket'. So did we. And we thought you were a dick.

Actually, I think my pet hate really is anyone who thinks people should be looking at them in gigs. It also includes the cracky woman in Manchester who faced away from the stage, spraying people with her cheap perfume, and digging her claws into people's necks and then getting offended by people shrugging her off or giving her evils. I told her to fuck off because she was right in my face for the solo of Donkeys. The solo of Donkeys!

So yeah, aside from gigidiots, the Manics were splendid. Nicky was certainly happier in London than in Manchester, tho, but I'm always team JDB, and his voice was on top form, considering he's usually fucked in December gigs. And Sean was hardly 'the quiet one' this tour, was he? Jesus.

It would be easy to say that my fave songs were ones I'd not heard live before but Archives of Pain (esp. solo) was the most spine-tingle bit in both gigs for me.

Also James' liberal swearing made me hard. I love naughty fucking Bradfield.

I so want an EMG tour in 2 years time, tho. With B-sides. My first gigs were EMG tour ones, so I'd love to hear Enola/Alone, Girl Who Wanted To Be God, etc all over again.

He said that in response to a request for Patrick Bateman, hence the teaser acoustic snippet before Show Me The Wonder.

I wondered what that was... thought it was Condemned to Rock N Roll or something. Bit vague for me!

I'd like to add that people who queued for said 13 odd hours also fucked off back to the hotel for a 5 hour nap during the day.

Queue etiquette you say?

Ahhh how can a fabulous event turn into this bickering
Seems to happen with a lot of forums I guess, less so face to face chats.

A few rows back Is fine surely?
I've done a bit of silly early morning queueing in my time. For me it wasn't about being closer to the band, but for my awful feet. If I'm standing and not at the barrier I find I'm in such pain that I can't wait for the gig to be over. I'm sure some people have similar reasons.

This gig was my first seated and it was phenomenal. Had a little tear up during the Archives of Pain solo and my face was killing me after the first set from grinning ear to ear the whole time. I apologise to the people around me that had to hear my passionate sing along!

Yeah I thought it was a response to the "Nicky Wire, you're my desire" banner

I'm not a barrier person, prefer being a few rows back where the jumping is in full force, and it's easy to get there after doors open too. I can understand why people queue though and I do kinda agree that if you do queue that long you probably do deserve a good spot!

Does anyone here know the guy in the (is there a better phrase than 'mosh pit', that sounds awful), with a huge rucksack on his back?that seemed a bit of a nuisance for others, especially given theres a cloakroom, maybe it's just me...

That's definitely worthy of a "you might want to consider your life choices!"

I think, if I remember rightly, he preceded that with "I'm not saying you need therapy, but..." and that's where it became my mission to try and see just what was written on the sign!
