I got two postcards, one one day, the next the following day. That was odd. I guess this is to do with having bought the limited edition JFPL.

They're email postcard pictures aren't they? As in the picture at the top of the presale email. Not real postcards.

Nah, its if you bought tickets for the manics from see tickets before seemingly. Def not buying JFPL from them though as I didn't as I didn't want mine signed.

I wonder when the Tracklist will be revealed?
I can't think what the 2nd Disc will be, my money's on a few extra tracks from the Album Sessions.

I just read (probably been mentioned but I just discovered this) that Chris Lord Alge will be mixing the album in America later this month. What does someone who "mixes" an album do exactly, can anyone be specific? Thanks.

It can refer to lots of different sort of things. But essentially someone who moulds each individual track together from the core recordings of each separate instrument. For instance they'll EQ each instrument so each one can be heard and sounds how they want it to sound. He'll add effects such as reverb etc and generally change the levels of things.
It's probably the most important, and most fun and creative, part of the whole process (except actually recording the raw tracks).

Sets the volume between the tracks. A bit like they did for the old Beatles albums recently.

Ah right, thanks. I always thought the producer did all that jazz. Oh well.

They can, and a lot of the time for smaller bands they will. It totally depends on what the band want really. Names and titles are thrown around, and a lot of the time they don't always mean the same thing. Sometimes more than one person will mix an album together, sometimes they'd both do mixes of the album and they'd choose their favourite. Sometimes an album will have two or three different people's mixes of songs on them.
It's a confusing old world.

At my worst I think the second disc will be demos? At my normal I think it could be the American mix?
At my best I think the second disc will be full of the stuff they would have released as b-sides, in case they abandon convential singles altogether? And just have the individual tracks to download? Not sure how I'd feel about not having CD singles from this album? (I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, I'M ON MY OWN ON THIS ONE!) But a second CD would make up for that policy and imagine how you would have enjoyed this for SATT?
So RIP Manics Cd singles and hello second disc special editions?
Or it could be something else!
You could have classic "big radio hits" and today's downloading rules. When do we start the Facebook campaign to get "It's Not War Just The End Of Love" to No.1 start?

I think Chris Lord Alge is the one responsible for the monumental fuck up/copy+paste job in the middle of Underdogs. Great to have him back!!
