Lovely to meet Franny, Kelly and Cricri too...along with Alex, Emma and the German and Copenhagen people
I could'nt work out the Cuba footage for Stay Beautiful, I noticed the edited out scenes for the So Why So Sad video though

Thats not who I meant. I mean the guy they repeatedly got back as a joke to put in the "guess the former star" round. He's a bit weird looking.

i caved in and bought some merch. No willpower wotsoever..tote bag..white band tshirt and a keyring. I liked the culture alienation..one but i'm too old to wear that. Wanted a mug too but inexplicably they said they'd only sell them after the gig. Was this for health and safety? Unsurprisingly they'd sold out by the time i got there.. £30 on ebay then

I didnt wear my leopard print coat..I'm still too protective of it as its brand new. Didn't want some git spilling beer all over it! I did have a leopard print scarf and gloves tho so i was a bit manics fanlike. Spotted some great outfits

So basically what an epic day/night/gig!!

I had been told before not to drive around in London, so I thought "fuck it, what do you know" and boshed my merry way to the 02 after an epic drive from up north. It was hilarious dueling with a London Bus. They didn't expect that I'm northern and drive my car like a dodgem.

So we finally get to the 02 and I think, "you know what this evening needs? fucking Pringles" We were way early and there was no need to queue right, so lets just sit here and eat Pringles. I paid 17 quid for the car park so I wanted to get my moneys worth. So fresh from dominating the streets of Lahhhhhnndaaaahhhhn, we ventured into the Enourmodrome.

I have to say, it wasn't totally soulless. Certainly very corporate, but not soulless. I had a litle shufty in some of the shops and was sipping on an ale when I thought "shit, this isn't the Trafford centre! Let's go to a rock concert!" So we joined the queue of doom. Now, I don't know who organises the 02, but they boast of having many gates (A-F or something), and yet only Gates B and F were open for us mere Manic Mortals. Seriously guys, the biggest arena in the UK, and you're trying to fit 18,000 people into 2 fairly small doors. Very odd. So we were herded into the sheep den and told to get cozy while we were patted down for the inevitable firearms we would take in to take aim at the band once the struck into So Why So Sad. Everyone was very serious, presumably because this is the 02 and when you are at the 02 this is a place for serious business with a zero tolerance on fun.

Inside the arena and essentially it is like every single other arena I've ever been in except the entertainment was up a notch on the usual fare. I saw a banner for Kasabian and considered a return with my stun gun.

I had my concerns about our boys after the LLandudno PFAYM show. I wanted to like it, and probably pretended I did, but boy was it limp. As were the crowd, I mean if a rousing rendition of Motorcycle has about 6 people jumping, it's time to pack up and go home, and I feared this might feature more of the same. I had no need to worry though....

The less often played singles were brilliant alongside the classics. She Is Suffering was a huge highlight. It was just towering, and that intro gave me the shivers. Revol was epic including the semi circle pit of mosh, although I have to say being near the front all night I think a few people down the front had been to the Nando's upstairs. It was garlic city down there. I actually even completely forgot about There By The Grace of God which is a great track and should be played more often. After several acoustic renditions, The Everlasting was also restored to it's full glory, I mean, that solo has to be in there. Nice to see them buzz through SWSS and Nixon even if it is the last we ever hear of them. While I'm not mad keen on This is the Day I had a bit of a lump in my throat and tear in my eye as all those images came on across the screen of the wonder years gone before us.

Overall though, that combined with a good crowd brought a top performance. I was mightily pleased to have made it down, and even more relieved to make it home in one piece at 5am. I'm sure they were glad just to finish the set given the length of it, but they truly did themselves justice, and that tag of national treasures looks all the more suiting every time I see it. An unforgettable night.

I was staying at the Travelodge and I managed to get tube back with a few friends (some who used to post on here) at around 11:45pm.

Just uploading my vids from the other night. to begin with, Nina's entrance...listen out for me shouting "Ninnnnnaa" in a very broken voice. Also love how the crowd go mental when the song starts! Apologies for not filming the entire song, it was getting a bit mental!
